Sunless Sea

PostPosted by Zolana » Sat May 10, 2014 3:15 pm

Several months ago I backed Sunless Sea (thanks to people chatting about it over at the super-mega-other-kickstarter-game-thread-of-hyper-awesomeness). I'm just wondering who else backed it (and if any of you also play Fallen London - their first game)?

Also, if you don't know, they've just released a new trailer, which looks brilliant!:

It's available for pre-order at their official website (http://sunlessseagame.com/). They'll be launching a Steam Greenlight campaign this Thursday (15th May), and Early Access will be available from 17/6. So get your voting fingers ready :D!

If you've not looked at it already, it's very much worth checking out!

Edit: Forgot to mention, they're definitely making at least one expansion, due out ~end of Q3, where you can go in a submarine under the surface of the water and explore the murky depths. There was a further expansion they thought of, where you fly up to the roof of the cave, but the stretch goal wasn't met for that (but with any luck they'll make it anyway and sell it as DLC).

Indeed! Failbetter Games I believe are based in Greenwich (hence the whole London/nautical theme I guess)! Be sure to try out their Fallen London game as well. It's basically the ultimate create your own story adventure game online (oh and it's 100% free as well).

Voted. I've liked the look of this one for a long time.

Upvoting this I was close to backing this on the Kickstarter first time around,Also tried Fallen London their really weird free alternate world demon occupied Victorian London online text adventure and as this is set in the same universe as Sunless Sea this new game could be really good as the online game is full of imagination and is damn right wonderfully bonkers and has weirdness all round. ;)

Their roadmap is listed here: http://sunlessseagame.com/progress

I liked Hellgate:London a lot - except for the multiplayer bit. And the weapon balance / fun at higher character levels was crap. But going demon hunting with a robot sidekick with a full-auto grenade launcher? Awesome. =P

The early access is now out, so if you want to support development, it's 10% off, however, as we know, it's not recommended.
