Voice Actors?

Is there any NPC's/Quests that will use voice acting? I'd like to potentially join as a voice actor if you need it.

I'm afraid not. As usual this is a budget issue - we have too many lines of dialog and not nearly enough money to record / manage audio for them all.

I wouldn't require any pay. I'm just looking to increase my resume, and this game looks fantastic. I'd love to contribute in any way I could.

I appreciate the offer. It's not just about paying the voice actors, though. It's about the time it takes to record and manage audio files. There are something like 30,000 files in the project already. Audio would add thousands - possibly tens of thousands - more. Each one would have to be recorded, imported, edited, cataloged and linked to each line of written dialog. It's a huge process.

Amazon's Audiobook Creation Exchange –– it's a fun place for actors and voice artists to find and record some of the material that ends up on audible.com. It may not be your thing, but it came to mind when you mentioned you're trying to add to your voice acting work.

Don't worry, you'll most likely get some bloke mod it in who does the voices for all of the characters himself on a laptop mic, including the women.

If it hadn't ended with the first reply, I would have told people to discuss beards, obelisks, and flying monkeys elsewhere.

You'll just have to rely on the voices in your head. =)

Hey, Lars said he'd provide full mod support. That _should_ include code for voice acting. Maybe at some point people will do volunteer voice packs for the Frontiers campaign. ;)

All joking aside i'd contribute to this effort like crazy. It'd be a blast, methinks.

Given the amount of dialogue in the game, it would be a mammoth effort. :P
