Greenlight is live, plus an updated trailer!

PostPosted by Railboy » Sun Mar 30, 2014 4:17 am

Hello, everyone!

I did a stealth launch of the Greenlight page at around 7pm so I could get all my cross-links on various sites working.

Well, turns out there's no such thing as a stealth launch on Greenllight - it has hundreds of visitors after only two hours. So even though it's still the 29th we're officially live.

Enjoy!

Lars, that new trailer looks real nice!

I already told some of my friends about it, posted on FB, and twitter!

Greenlight GO!

Keep up the good work!

I voted @ Greenlight, and watched the trailer over and over and over again - and all I can say is WOW !!!!!

It's absolutely amazing and beautiful and mysterious and beautiful and really (really!) great. And beautiful. And I'll definitely be sharing the Greenlight link with others in the hours and days ahead.

But I'm wondering if anyone else thinks that Albert Benneton bears a bit of a resemblance to Lars? Or maybe I just watched the trailer a few too many times. :)

Either way, this is surely gonna be one hell of a game !!!

Congratulations, and thanks, to everyone involved! :redlace:

Oddly enough, Alberta Benneton also has a full beard. As does little Timmy Benneton. When he starts walking we'll start trimming it.

I'm still confused as to why there are "no" votes.

Because it's a simple question. Would you buy this on Steam, yes/no?

It's 'Yes' vs 'No / Not Interested.' Greenlight tries to put a queue of Greenlight games in front of you, presumably to encourage people to vote on as many new items as possible. Voting 'No' clears a game from your queue so you don't see it again. So I imagine it's a way to keep the entries flowing without blanket-voting 'yes' on everything.

I did some research and they don't count the 'No' votes when ranking the games. (Not that rank strictly matters either.)

The whole system is kind of weird.

I think they just chose the least confusing question.

Why would they even care about "no" votes?

For some odd reason my page was in Portuguese, so I am not sure exactly how I voted. I figured Sim is Si is Yes, but the choice after that left me baffled so I went with left option because that is what you do in RPG pick a turn and stick with it.

Oh, I didn't pay attention to the "Not interested" bit. I think they should have made it three buttons if they were going that route, but as you said they are getting rid of it so there is no reason to change it.

Steam would be rather silly not to greenlight this gem. Stat.

DING DING DING

We made it to the top 100 just before the counter rolled over to the next day.

Now comes the waiting...

We'll be staying in the top 100 as long as people keep voting for us, so we don't get pushed out by other projects.

As for when we'll actually be Greenlit, that part is totally up to Valve, and from previous experience they do it pretty much whenever they feel like it. All we need to do is HOLD THE LINE MY FRIENDS

Grats on reaching the top 100, now the challenge will be to stay there.
Btw I just noticed this on Kotaku. You are atleast getting proper coverage now.

Nah the chart just flat-lines when the counter turns over to the next day. But the end of the day it always perks up again.

Yeah it took a while but something finally stuck. It had a big impact - we're at #66 out of 100 and climbing fast.

Top 100 in 4 days? Impressive (in Vader voice).

It makes me quite happy to see this game succeed. I'd love to see it break out like Minecraft. When I played an alpha for Minecraft i thought it was such a specific niche that there was nearly no hope for its widespread success. I hope i'm wrong in the same way about Frontiers.

Promise that if you release updates which broaden its appeal that you allow us to select the old versions to play as well? If possible.

By the way Lars, you CAN'T post too many of these updates. They are, to me, like watching the Kickstarter numbers climb all over again. Loving this.
