ambient quests & lack of voice acting.

Engine, AI, scripting, that sort of thing.

ambient quests & lack of voice acting.

Something I'm noticing in Skyrim is that there's quite a few map updates/quests given by hearing ambient conversation- stuff you just happen to overhear or something someone says to you unprompted as you walk past.

With Frontiers not having voice acting, will these kinds of ambient quests be occurring through other means?

I guess you would need dialogue boxes, although you wouldn't want them popping up all the time. Perhaps a small "new quest available" caption in the corner could appear for a few seconds, and if you click it, you'd get the details?

Knowledge in FRONTIERS is strictly 'pull.' If you don't take direct action, you don't learn anything.

What're your thoughts on the use of a courier NPC to deliver ambient quests?
