Million dollar game and...

"Oh look, a cave. I wonder what's inside."

Perhaps it's all of the terribly evil things we just laid to waste, Lydia. Hmmm? Maybe?

Tell me your NPCs won't ask such asinine questions, Lars. Please, just lie to me.

dont think we will see companions in Frontiers, they won't be that advanced, and I never thought much of them anyway, just excess baggage

so travelling companions Im sure is a big no anyway

I don't know matthewfarmery; companions are a definite possibility considering we hit the mobile NPC stretch goal.
If anything, I'm sure people will find a workaround to use the animal companion AI for humans.

Flying dragon mounts or even a dragon dung would be cool.

Agreed. Companions in Skyrim drive me absolutely insane. At least with a companion pet you can blame their idiotic tendencies on them being animals.

DAMNIT LYDIA! I'm an assassin. Stop running in all willie-nilly!

Companions. Ugh.....

When I used to play skyrim, my Lydia fell through the world.

Didn't see her for about 10 hours.

I was trying to sneak past these spiders, when lydia spawned in, alerted all the monsters, I died.

F**K you lydia.

There are about a dozen reasons why I travel alone. This is one of them.

Yahtzee was talking about Dead Island on this review, but it sums up my general feeling regarding escort quests:
Yahtzee Croshaw wrote:And finally, escort quests. I don't know if Dead Island is trying to raise support for some kind of genocidal regime that will bring about the extermination of non-player characters, but you'll certainly have a powerful hate for them by the end of all this. Characters you have to escort don't follow you; they run on ahead and have a curious blind spot to vehicles.

At least Skyrim has the decency of making the escort characters unkillable.
